Website - 1st Draft.

For our website we used the software Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.

Patricia and I used the colour scheme of Black, White, Red and Blue just like our Digipak.
We used our original idea of our layout to make this.

We both has equal input when making the website and agreed on the idea a news box, the banner, navigation bar where they are but to also to put our music video in the middle of our page and to advertise the digipak in the top corner so our website homepage would be made around promoting this digipak and song that we chose.

We made a Polaroid style photographic image for the digipak promotion in the top left hand corner next to the banner and I made it in a rollover image that distorts the picture when a visitor's mouse moves over it.

We used a table to split up our navigation bar and made working links for it when the website is live.

For our final version I think we need; a background to make it a bit more lively and to make it stand out more; to put more onto the page like social networking links; scroll boxes for the news and little extras like that to make the page longer and better.

Digipak - 1st draft

We decided to go for a 6 panel digipak instead of a 4 paneled one.
These were the measurements and the desired layout that we used:

The images we used for our digipak were shot against a green screen by both myself and Patricia. We had plenty of images and chose the ones we felt turned out the best but for the final version we are looking to go for some different images on the inside and on the back.

The picture on the front cover (right panel) was shot and edited by me and the background on the front cover was designed and executed by Patricia. The back middle panel of the digipak was designed by both me and Patricia and we feel we need to put more on the back middle panel and an image is needed for the back left panel.

Front & Back of Digipak.

The inside side images were shot and edited by Patricia and the middle one was shot and edited by me. The Megaphone facing up in the middle panel is where the CD would go.
We feel for the final version we maybe need different images or backgrounds for the side panels as we feel it's pretty basic.

Filming & Editing the 1st Draft.

We had planned to film on Sunday 17th October originally but due to a water pipe burst on Friday 15th October, college was closed and we couldn't pick up the camera for filming on the weekend so therefore we had to reschedule.

We ended up filming on 18th, 20th & 21st October. Because of this our chosen actress, Jessie, who was available on the 17th was not available during this week for filming so Patricia had to play her part instead.
We had filmed one part of the chorus with our actor, Shaun, on Wednesday 6th October.

On Monday 18th October we filmed the first verse. I filmed with camera, keeping track of camera angles, shots and movements using our storyboard and also using that to direct the actors.
As Patricia had to play Jessie's part in the end she had the job of acting and didn't use the camera to film on this day although she did also direct Shaun when lip-syncing and also with the shots.

On Tuesday 19th October we captured the footage that we had filmed the day previously and edited the footage on the editing software Adobe Premiere Pro. We renamed all of the clips and then placed them next to each other, in order, on the timeline.

On Wednesday 20th October we filmed the second verse and the last bridge before the last chorus of the song. We made the banner that says 'I Love You' prior to filming as this was a prop we needed. And the prop that is the Megaphone was also used when we were filming these parts. Again, I was in control of the camera angles, shots and movements, Patricia was acting and we both had equal input with directing shots.

On Thursday 21st October we captured the footage from the previous day and renamed and placed the shots on the timeline in order. We also layered the audio track over the footage and got rid of the existing audio on the footage as this was not needed. When editing me and Patricia had equal input and made decisions effectively and agreed on them together.
Patricia and I took it in turns to cut the shots down to what was needed and placed them in the appropriate place on the timeline.
On the evening of this day we filmed the last parts of our Music Video.

On Friday 22nd October we captured the footage from the previous day and continued with the editing. I used blend effects on some of the shots and either sped some of the shots up or slowed them down in order to make the footage fit the song by means of time or just the tempo of the track. I taught Patricia how to do this also so she did a few too.
We finished the editing of our 1st draft on this day but we found that some parts of our footage didn't turn out the way we wanted so we didn't use some of it. This resulted in us repeating some parts of the footage toward the end of our video and also leaving in a part that says '2 weeks later' which we weren't entirely pleased with.

We know the parts of our video we need to improve so we made a list of improvements to be made;
- First bridge - footage too dark at the end so we need to film in either more light or earlier on in the day
- Repeated footage and '2 weeks later' blank space - film the other footage instead of this repeated/missing parts.
- End of song - too dark again; film in light or earlier on.
